چکیده
WEB OF SCIENCE Data for this project are drawn from Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science database, covering the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Social Sciences Citation Index and the Arts and Humanities Citation Index. All articles from 2008 to 2012 were included in the analysis. The raw data were transformed into a relational database on an SQL server, hosted at Observatoire des sciences et des technologies (OST) at the University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada, in order to perform the various analyses. Since 2008, the Web of Science (WoS) includes the full first name of authors, which allows for gender classification of authors (see next sections). Thomson Reuters also indexes institutional address (institution, country, city, etc.) of each author, which allows for precise geographical assignation of articles by gender.

Yet, it is e...

There were once again high expectations that a major global health event - the Ebola virus outbreak of 2014-2015 - would trigger meaningfully World Health Organization (WHO) reform and strengthen global health governance (GHG). Rather than a “turning point,” however, the global community has gone back to business as usual. This has occurred against a backdrop of worldwide political turmoil, cha...

In his perspective “Navigating between stealth advocacy and unconscious dogmatism: the challenge of researching the norms, politics and power of global health,” Ooms argues that actions taken in the field of global health are dependent not only on available resources, but on the normative premise that guides how these resources are spent. This comment sets out how the application of a predomina...
